World Needs
Pray for global conflict zones — the Middle East, the Russia–Ukraine war, and other unstable regions worldwide. May the Lord bring an end to all warfare, prevent escalation of conflict that could bring greater destruction and disaster, and quell hatred and violence. Ask that God move the hearts of world leaders and peace mediators to pursue peace, seek justice and reconciliation, and put an end to the suffering caused by war. Ask that He have mercy on those affected by the fighting, heal the wounded, and comfort those who have lost homes and loved ones, granting them strength and hope. Ask that He sustain the service of medical workers, aid workers, and pastors ministering to those who suffer. Pray for those in authority — that the Lord would intervene, and that all wars would soon come to a complete end.
National Needs
As of August 10, over 100 wildfires are burning across British Columbia, many of them out of control, and 22,000 residents are under evacuation order due to fire and smoke. Pray for firefighters and rescue workers on the front lines, and for residents still in danger zones — that the fires would soon be brought under control and extinguished. Pray for those who have lost loved ones, homes, and belongings — that they would experience God's comforting presence in their grief. Pray for those displaced by fire damage or evacuation orders — that they would find God's comfort in their uncertainty. Pray for provincial leaders — that God would grant them wisdom to make sound decisions, allocate resources well, and provide appropriate help to those affected.
Church Needs
- 2026 Deacon Board: Bro. Chen Tat-sang (Chair), Sis. Pan Lei, Bro. Yu Shi-keung, Sis. Peng Oi-lin, and Sis. Xie Hu Shui-ling. Pray that the Lord would lead the deacons to serve in partnership and shepherd the church well.
- Pray for the recruitment of an English Youth Ministry pastor and a Mandarin pastor — that the Lord would send suitable servants to shepherd our congregations.
- Christian Education Department: The Fall Sunday School term begins in September. Bible class — "From Jerusalem to the Ends of the Earth: A Reading of Church History," taught by Bro. David Situ. Senior class — "Peaceful Conversations about Life and Death," taught by Rev. Feng Zi-zhao. Pray that God would grant teachers wisdom to prepare, and give students hearts that hunger for God's Word.
- Care Department: Pray that God would give everyone fervent hearts to welcome newcomers well, so they can integrate into the church. Pray that God would move brothers and sisters to reach out and greet one another, showing love and care. Pray for God's mercy and healing on the sick — that He would grant them strength to face challenges and overcome hardship.
- Worship Department: Pray for those attending worship — that the Holy Spirit would help them set aside their worries and stay focused; that they would open their hearts, allowing the Spirit to speak through hymns, prayer, scripture, and sermons, and meet God in worship.
- Outreach Department: The Mid-Autumn Evening on September 12. Pray that God would guard all preparations, and that the event would draw neighbours and new friends to come and get to know the church.
- Missions Department: Thank God for leading the church to prepare the August short-term mission trip to Thailand, serving Myanmar refugee families in western Thailand and supporting local missionaries and pastors. The team has 10 members (6 adults, 4 youth). Please remember in prayer the spiritual preparation of the team members, team unity, financial needs, and the ministry to refugee families, children, youth, and front-line co-workers.
- Mandarin Ministry: May the Lord Jesus bless the Mandarin congregation and add to it those who are being saved. Bless every Mandarin ministry; may the Lord Jesus fulfill His own will and plans. May the Lord revive the lives of our Mandarin brothers and sisters, granting them a fervent love for the Lord, a hunger and thirst for God's Word, and a life of reverence and humility.
- Children's Ministry: Children's Day Camp runs August 10–14. Pray that God would bless the children and serving team with good health and joyful partnership, that they would come to know God more and build good relationships. Thank God for blessing fellowship leaders and children with joyful hearts growing in the Lord's love and truth.
- Youth Ministry: Little House Fellows will hold their youth camp at Golden Ears Provincial Park on August 31 – September 3. Pray for good weather and that all preparations would go smoothly. SPORTEF (Junior Youth): May the Lord keep and strengthen the parents of junior youth, that they would persist in bringing their children to church and to Sunday School, and lay a firm foundation of faith through study, activities, and sharing.
